Disclaimer
iLovePDF is a free online toolkit of 259 browser-based tools: 81 PDF tools, 73 image tools, 30 Office tools and 75 utility tools. This page sets out the limits of what we promise, and the responsibilities that stay with you. Please read it before you rely on anything the site produces.
The tools are provided “as is”
Every tool on https://ilovepdf4.com is offered as is and as available, without any warranty. We do not promise that a tool will produce a particular result, that a conversion will be pixel-perfect, that an output file will open in every application, or that the site will be free of interruptions. We test the tools and fix what we find, but we cannot test your file, your browser version or your device. If a tool does not do what you hoped, it may simply not be able to, and the result was never guaranteed.
No sign-up is required, no account is created and no watermark is added to your output. Those are the terms on which the tools are given. Beyond them, we make no promise of fitness for a particular purpose.
Your file stays on your device, and we cannot recover it
This is the point worth reading twice. Every tool runs client-side in your browser using JavaScript, WebAssembly and Canvas. Your file is opened and processed on your own machine. It is uploaded only for the 44 office conversions, which delete the copy the moment they finish, and no lasting copy of it stays on our server, because the 44 office conversions delete the upload the moment they finish. We hold nothing: not the original, not the converted output, not a temporary file, not a cache entry.
Three consequences follow, and they are not fine print:
- We cannot restore a file you have lost. If your browser crashes halfway through, if you close the tab, if the device loses power, if you clear your downloads folder, we have nothing to send you, because the browser-based tools never gave us a copy and the office conversions delete the upload the moment they finish. The file cannot be recovered or restored by us, because it was never ours to keep.
- We cannot retrieve an earlier version. There is no history and no backup. If you overwrite an original with a converted file, the original is gone unless you kept your own copy.
- We cannot check your file for you. We cannot examine a document you are worried about or tell you whether a conversion changed it.
Keep your own backup of anything you cannot afford to lose, and download your result before closing the tab. That habit is the only safety net this architecture allows, and it is worth keeping whichever tools you use.
Independence and no affiliation
The name “iLovePDF” is also used by a separate company behind ilovepdf.com, based in Spain. That company has no connection to this website. We are not affiliated with it, not endorsed by it, not partnered with it, and not acting on its behalf. We do not use its code, its servers or its services. The similarity is coincidental, and no claim of association is made or implied in either direction. If you were looking for the Spanish company, you are on the wrong website.
This site is run by an individual publisher based in Pakistan, under the name iLovePDF as shown to visitors. There is no company behind it beyond that. Nothing here should be read as a statement about, or a criticism of, any other business using a similar name.
Not professional advice
The tools and the guides on this site are general-purpose utilities and general information. Nothing on iLovePDF is legal, financial, medical or tax advice, and nothing on the blog is a substitute for advice from someone qualified and familiar with your circumstances.
Conversion is a mechanical process, and mechanical processes change things. Layout can shift. Fonts can be substituted when the original is not embedded. Tables can reflow, page breaks can move, footnotes can detach, form fields can flatten, and scanned text recognised by OCR can be misread. Numbers are especially vulnerable, because a misread digit still looks like a number. Verify any important document after conversion, and check it page by page before you sign, file, send or rely on it. For anything with legal or financial weight, compare the output against the original yourself.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of iLovePDF is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or its tools. That includes lost or corrupted files, lost data, lost time or business, and any indirect or consequential loss, however the claim is framed. You use the site at your own risk, and the tools are free, which is part of why the risk sits where it does.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of that paragraph may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot lawfully be limited.
Your responsibility
You choose which files to process, so you carry the responsibility for that choice. Only use the tools on material you own, material you have permission to handle, or material whose licence allows what you are doing with it. Do not use the site to break copyright, to strip protections you have no right to strip, to process data you are not authorised to access, or to prepare anything unlawful. If you handle other people’s personal data, including client documents or patient records, the duty to handle it lawfully stays with you. We never see the file, so we can neither grant permission nor take that duty off your hands.
External links
Some pages link to websites we do not run, for convenience and reference only. We do not control the content, terms, privacy practices or availability of external sites, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you leave ilovepdf4.com, the rules of the site you land on apply.
Advertising
This site is free because it carries advertising, including Google AdSense through publisher id pub-8928122502589555. Ads pay for hosting and for the time spent building and maintaining the tools. They are kept separate from tool content: no advertiser sees your files, can influence what a tool outputs, or can ask us to change a converter’s behaviour. We do not accept payment to make a tool produce a specific result. Advertising cookies are described in our Cookie Policy and, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, they are not set until you consent.
